KPF (Krenz Perpendicular Fold)

KPF (the Krenz Perpendicular Fold) is a unique technique to fold a card under the cover of a spread of cards. It will require study and dedication to master. Once learned, you will have a way to fold a card into a smaller and thinner fold than any other fold that i have seen.

The demo video is shown without editing or sound sweetening—keep in mind that under normal performance, the fold is deceptive and noise is not an issue in normal performance environments (meaning that you may hear the fold in the demo video due to a sensitive microphone and the lack of background noise).

The explanation video is over twenty minutes, and the basics of TPC are covered.

Credit update: Jamy Ian Swiss created his Under-The-Spread Fold and published in 1987 in the lecture manuscript, Thoughts. It is the first sleight to utilize the spread of cards to conceal the folding of a selected card. I highly recommend that serious cards students study Jamy’s fold as it is well worth your time.

The TC False Cut

The TC False Cut is a simple, yet utterly reliable false cut. It can be done blindly, which allows you to maintain eye contact with your audience. It has been a staple in my repertoire for more than thirty years.

Credits notes: R. Paul Wilson informs me that this may be the Pirandello False Cut from Versatile Card Magic (since my books are in storage, I will have to dig into this in the future). There's also the Jackie Clements cut (published without prior knowledge about the existence of the Pirandello) which is the same but with an added subtlety. Paul himself some work on it at the Art of Magic — a multiple shift and a double undercut variation. Serious card students should study all of these.

Imp-Load Video

Imp-Load is my card case load, wherein a signed playing card is secretly loaded into a card case that has been on the table before the card was selected!

The load is done while the cards are under the direct observation of the audience. The load has baffled well-versed magicians around the world!

Here is a quote from R. Paul Wilson about Imp-Load: “I've been fooled badly by this. My friends have been fooled badly by this. Signed card cleanly goes into the deck, vanishes and appears inside the box that's in full view on the table. Highly recommended.”

TPC will take some practice, but once mastered, you will astonish every person that you perform it for!

Over the past three decades, no other sleight has been more meaningful to me than TPC.

Juan has given me permission to teach his move. This video will give you an excellent introduction, and it is a great companion to my Imp-Load video.
